Hope has POWER! Paired right alongside faith and l Hope has POWER! Paired right alongside faith and love in 1 Corinthians 13:13, hope is one of the cornerstones of a solid Christian life. The Bible tells us in Hebrews 6:19 that hope is an anchor for our souls, firm and secure. And we see over and over again in the Psalms and through the lives of godly men and women in the Bible that hope allows us to rise above our circumstances, to soar on the wings of eagles when others would fall (Isaiah 40:31). It's no wonder the world tries so badly to steal our hope!
•
And what, after all, is our hope in? Certainly not in the things of the world, not in human ability or circumstances. No. Our hope is in the One and only God who has proven Himself good and faithful to us time and time again. We have hope because we have God. Even though all else quakes and crumbles around us (just take a look at the story of Job!), we can still maintain our hope because the promises of God act as a lighthouse to draw us forward. We can rest assured and we can rest in hope, knowing He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

It’s amazing how I feel like we’re getting to know him already. He is feisty without a doubt (ultrasound tech has confirmed this lol). He is responsive to both mine and Victor’s familiar touch and voices. And he loves worship already, kicking up a storm and leaping around through the whole set.
•
We’re on the countdown now for sure. Nursery is done, hospital bag is mostly packed just in case he decides to make an early appearance, and we are waiting patiently for him to grow as much as he needs to before we get to hold him in our arms 🤍
3 years ago this week, I shared my first blog post 3 years ago this week, I shared my first blog post on Honestly Rebecca. Things have come a long way since then both in my life and on the blog! It’s humbling to see the growth over the past few years (yes in the numbers, but primarily in my own life and writing). I’ve gone through waves of being consistent and then totally stopping writing for months at a time. I’m grateful to be at a place now where creating quality, encouraging, godly content is able to be a priority in my life on Instagram, on the blog, and on YouTube!

In honor of this week, I’m releasing a new tag line for Honestly Rebecca - “creating the abundant life God has for us through practical daily decisions.” This really sums up the mission for me. God has amazing things for us if we follow after Him in the simple moments of life as well as the big. We really can have a full, whole, wonderful life in Him, and a lot of that stems from the practical choices we make each day.
•
As we embark on a new year at Honestly Rebecca, my prayer is that you would be encouraged to listen to the Holy Spirit in your day to day life and to make decisions that support the kind of life God has for you! Your journey doesn’t have to look like anyone else’s...in fact, it shouldn’t! Have fun exploring and creating the abundant life God has for you, one Spirit-led decision at a time 🤍
As I have worked more and more over the past year As I have worked more and more over the past year to create the kind of full, whole life that God has for me, I find that the biggest difference is made in the small choices. The closer I draw to Him, the more important the important things become, and the less important everything else becomes. 🙏 With that in mind, one of the simple things I do that helps me live to the fullest is cook meals that are delicious while also being efficient and easy to make. 👩‍🍳 This allows me to stay focused on what matters most to me while also providing a good meal for my family. Today on the blog and YouTube channel, I'm sharing one of my favorite easy meals - 3 ingredient chicken alfredo! I hope you enjoy it and are encouraged today to find ways to make life work well for you!! 🤍
This is it. This is, in Jesus' own words, what it' This is it. This is, in Jesus' own words, what it's all about. He came that we may have LIFE in Him. It's not just about doing good or following rules; it's about walking in the fullness of a restored relationship with the Father and all that comes with that - love, joy, peace, hope, righteousness, strength, power, the fruit of the Spirit, the gifts of the Spirit, grace, blessings, favor.....
•
The beautiful thing is, we can have that in every aspect of our lives. God's not just interested in our church attendance. He cares deeply for every part and facet of our lives. He wants us to have His fullness in every way and measure.
•
For the past year, this has been my driving force as I've worked to create the kind of life that works well for me. I'm reminded daily that Jesus didn't come so I could go through the motions. He has abundance for my family and me! As I continue on this journey, each and every day, I am actively seeking after the Holy Spirit to guide my decision-making. As I do so, the things that are most important to me - faith, family, home, creativity - become more important, and everything else begins to fall into place to support those most important things. Each day, it seems my vision becomes more clear as I follow after His guidance. The weights of the world really do begin to fall away as we draw nearer and nearer to Him, and He is the One who draws us into deeper and deeper levels of the fullness of life that He came to give us.
This is by far my favorite place on earth. You can This is by far my favorite place on earth. You can see it on my face here, the full surrender and joy and peace. When Victor and I travel to this spot in Canada, it’s like everything falls into place and I am able to just be.
•
While I’m sure this spot will always bring a unique sense of bliss for me, though, I want to bring the surrender, joy, and peace with me everywhere. And I have hope in my soul because I know I have full access to that anytime, anywhere through my amazing Savior.
•
What a loving Father we have that has made fullness of life available to us here and now! There don’t have to be special circumstances. We don’t have to do everything perfectly. All we have to do is give Him our lives and He gives us HIS life and love in return!! Suddenly all that once seemed beautiful turns to gray and His presence illuminates a new beauty in life we never could have seen aside from Him.
As we wind down the first full week of the new yea As we wind down the first full week of the new year, I want to encourage you to not lose heart! There’s a lot circulating right now that seems discouraging and many that are already writing the year off as lost. Don’t take the bait! Keep up hope and keep after the goals you’ve set for yourself. God has so much in store for us if we just keep our eyes on Him and follow His leading 🙏
•
This scripture here, Psalm 128:2 reveals one of God’s promises to us. If we work hard and labor after Him and the things He’s guiding us to do, we will see the fruit from it and we will be blessed. As you work hard this year, be encouraged that God sees everything you’re doing - both the big and the small, mundane tasks. Keep at it, because He is faithful to His promises and has good things in store for those who love Him and pursue Him.

I had a doctors appointment a couple days ago, and they confirmed baby boy and I are both looking good and healthy 🙏 He is growing fast and strong and ahead of schedule.
•
I am definitely feeling the uncomfortableness of 3rd trimester, but I have also had a lot of energy the last couple of days to get things done. The nursery is starting to come together, and I’m feeling so much better now that we have most of the essentials in place for his arrival! 🤍🤍🤍
